Rainsticks have been used for centuries in ceremonial rituals by various tribes of South America to bring rain to the badly needed areas of the Atacama desert in northern Chile. When the rainstick is slightly tilted, small pebbles inside the cactus trickle down through sharp thorns to re-create the sound of rain. These rainsticks are made by Chilean craftsmen with care for the finest quality and sound.  Size is approx 15cm tall and 4cm diameter.  We also have 25cm, 50cm, 75cm and 100cm sizes available.
